networking those in healthcare and those who need them

Hi Everyone,

I've been on Facebook for a few weeks now and am enjoying connecting with all sorts of folks on it. Was able to get a lead on what will hopefully be a good collaboration for upcoming classes. I've created a business page, please feel free to check it out and give me your honest opinion! Coastal CPR & First Aid. I'm still figuring out this new format - I had it all set up nice and then facebook had to change it!

Take care,

Congratulations Gail

I also started a Facebook group specifically for Meditours. I hope you drop around and take a look . Basically - the group is for people who are interested in alternative forms of addressing their surgical needs and more specifically - hip/knee procedures as well as veneers in India. This form of treatment is of a very high quality and addresses many concerns re physio and post op care as well as price of course!!

Hi Gail,
I also use Facebook but not for a business page. I wish they had not changed it. My web site is www.HypnotherapyforHealth.com I teach the amazing applications of Medical Hypnosis to nurses, EMT's and other medical professionals. Maybe our sites should link to each other.

Hi Seth-Deborah,

I'll have to take a look at your website! Interesting! I recently met a few hypnotists at a face to face networking meeting, but their focus seemed to be stress relief and smoking cessation, both areas I do not need help with thankfully. I'm working mostly from home so I can say my stress level is low on most days! I'm still trying to get used to the new facebook pages and feel that my personal page has less than before. My business page has the 'wall' and status updates that it didn't have before, but I feel that a lot of text info I had on there is just not as easily visible or as professional looking as it was before.

I do think a business page is a good idea. I've actually networked with 1 potential client on facebook and have fans for it that aren't part of my friends network.

Take care!

Hey Facebookers!

Have you picked your 'vanity' URL for Facebook? I've done one for my personal page, www.facebook.com/gailk, but can't for my business page since I have less than 1,000 fans. But after 6/28 even small pages can register their own unique url for their business page.

This got me thinking that we should all really 'fan' each others pages. I know I'm guilty of not visiting everyone's page that I interact with online, but now my pace slows with the kids out of school for the summer I'm planning on getting caught up!

Take care,

Facebook does keep changing the format! It was confusing me. And then my hospital was kicked off because it was a business posing as a person (I guess...). We had a fan page that was deleted because it was created by Barnes-Jewish the person... so we recreated the group and have to find our followers again!

Hi, Gail! Thanks for starting this discussion. I just started using social media earlier this year. As an independent rep, mostly to medical industry, I am intrigued with the whole notion and joined a few for business purposes. I joined Facebook for personal mostly, then I decided to set up a page on Facebook for one of my business ventures. I offer a free drug card which gives discounts to anyone who wants one. Many are self employed or have minimal coverage on medicine. With the card, the person can get a discount, and no one is denied. The page on Facebook is MyRxSavingsCard.com . Yes, the whole website name. It's worth checking out and you can feel free to pass on the web site as you see fit. I also work with EMR, though I am not certain how social media will work with that.

I would be happy to become a fan of anyone else's page on Facebook when they become a fan of mine. Please just send me a PM to let me know.

I look forward to reading how this helps others as well

Hi Dianne,

the FB link to your business fan page didn't work, it just took me to your regular website. I was able to search you in in FB and have 'fanned' you. I'd love it if you could do the same for me! I'm hoping to get up to 100 fans to have a more personalized FB URL.

Take care,
