Thanks for asking about insurance issue.
The problem is that insurance companies in most States do not cover naturopathic care. Part of the issue has to do with State licensing. We are currently licensed to practice medicine in only 15 States, and in those States, insurance providers do not always cover our care - usually less than 1/2 the time.
In North Carolina we do not yet have a license to practice medicine, and therefore cannot provide CPT and ICD-9 codes that insurance companies rely on. We are working diligently on getting ourselves licensed here and with support from other North Carolinians it will happen this year!
Even with that the insurance issue is another challenge, and would not be automatic coverage.
I am most interested in supporting my patients in using their HSA and FSA funds to pay for our services.
I'd be happy to discuss this with you further.
My best in 2009!

Every insurance company coverage of benefits is different. If my clients get a doctors prescription (as simple as on a prescription pad) then they can get reimbursed for my sessions or at least take it off their taxes.
Welcome aboard, Jane. Glad to have you here. We're growing slowly right now. Stay tuned for more rapid growth in the near very near future. Kindly, - Jim
