Profile Information

About Me, My Profession and/or My Company:
I am a physician-healer (trained in internal medicine and psychiatry) who has had her own business for the past 10 years, currently going under the name of Heart of Healthcare. Prior to and concurrent with my work in healthcare, I've had a lifetime interest in wellness, and various forms of healing, not currently accepted as "conventional" medicine. I work with a five-dimensional model of healing and wellness.

As a professional coach and consultant, essentially what I do is to help catalyze and facilitate change, whether on a personal level, team or organizational level. I seem to have a talent for helping others maximize who they are and what they're seeking to accomplish.

I offer both executive coaching for leaders and managers in organizations as well as coaching for healthcare professionals and small business owners. I also consult for team building, strategic planning, and process facilitation as well as offer training. My latest program - Resilience for Unruly Times - will be offered both as an in-house workshop as well as a 5-6 part teleseminar

My mission and hope within my healthcare work is to "bring wisdom of the heart to the business of healthcare." My blog is currently housed at my website, but soon will be housed at a new domain, www.UnrulyChange.com. I'd love for you to join in conversation with me.

Forget The Secret - Uncover Your DNA!

Admittedly, I am a gullible person, plus I’m a child of the 60’s, so through my late teens and twenties, I was marinated in the lore and memes of the New Age. Actually, I love being a child of the 60’s, for the late 60’s and 70’s were a wonderful time to come of age, even though we witnessed and were shaped by the tragic assassinations of JFK, Martin Luther King, and Bob… Continue

Saving Primary Care Requires Emotional Intelligence and A Little More of This....

Medscape Psychiatry and Mental Health recently published an article on Saving Primary Care that certainly got my attention.

Trained as a primary care doc myself, I firmly believe that as a society, we’ve got our priorities screwed up and the value chain inverted. Primary care doctors are the gatekeepers and guides for how patients use the rest of the medical system, and therefore, they are the first line of defense.

The discovery of anti… Continue
