Healthcare Social Network for those in Health Care and those who Need Them
medXcentral will be a rapidly evolving group and we ask you take care to stay in tune with what is allowed and what is not. In addition to Ning's Policies (Ning is the social community platform this community is built upon), you MUST agree to medXcentral's General Terms of Service and Privacy Policy to participate here in our community. If you do not agree to the afformentioned, please let us know and we'll help you remove youself from within this community... (assuming you've already created a membership).
Our goal is simple... everything Medical in one location. As you can imagine.. that will not be easy and will not come without growing pains. Essentially, medXcentral equates to free advertising for your career, your company, your product or your service. But, please.. don't spam members.
The best ways to promote yourself, your product or your service are:
1.) Create your professional page. Feel free to describe yourself, your product or service and link out to wherever you want (including other social sites) as long as you are abiding by our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. No porn. No hate, etc. You or your product must serve the medical industry. Medical professionals (practitioners)... please view yourself and your skills as a service or product within this context. Students are welcome.
2.) Contribute to all applicable channels of the community. Seriously.. create interest in your profile by providing intellectually stimulating new content or feedback to posts and news stories. It works. But...stay on topic. Don't be blatantly solicitous as that will drive folks away from you and your profile.
3.) Invite others to be your "friend" on the network. When they accept, they become a business acquaintance and open to further discussions. Be sure to make a proper introduction of yourself. Visit their profile and leave them a comment on their site. Make it appropriate, NOT MARKETING MATERIAL, and they will likely connect with you. Who knows where it can go from there.
Lastly
Technically, we are a social community. However, our goal is to keep a professional atmosphere. So.. here's the approach that will help keep behavior in line; Behave as you would at work, on a sales call, in a meeting or at a professional social event. There's always room for fun... that's why my avatar is wearing sunglasses. Just keep it professional. Please and thank you.
